Here are some ways to test Configuration Manager:
If you type help you will see a description of the parameters for that specific command. In the example below, you can see the details for the pull command. e.g. help pull
Note: Some commands are only available at specific stages. For example you can open a new change request at any time, but you would need to have a change request opened in order to perform a pull.
For example by adding an Object to your target environment. In this example we will add an Action to the target environment.
To do this follow these steps:
--source <name_of_source_envirmoment>--target < name_of_target_environment >
list --environment source --type action (This will list all Actions in the source environment).
list --type action -–environment target (This will list all Actions in the target).
Add a new Action to the source environment using the Ooyala Flex Console UI.
pull -–type action -–uuid <uuid_of_newly_created_Action>. The UUID can be found in the Object Details section for the Action you have just created.
Configuration Manager will inform you that “The changes are ready to commit and you cannot roll them back once applied. Are you sure? <Y,N>”.
Type Y and push the Enter key to confirm the commit.
Finally, check that the new Action has been deployed to the target environment with same UUID.
Configuration Manager supports auto-completion. In order to use auto-complete, start typing your desired command. Then, simply press Tab+Tab and a list of commands that match will be displayed. You can then select the desired command from the list. Auto-complete simply helps you save time when entering commands.
In the example below, you can see the list of options that appear if you press Tab + Tab while entering the list command:
Note: You can also bring up, and cycle through any previously entered commands by pressing the Up and Down arrow keys. Then, when you have found the command you wish to use, you can execute it by pressing the Enter key.
