Third-Party Monitoring

We've established that Dalet Flex collects:

  • system and application metrics being shipped to internal Prometheus and optionally Dalet Control Tower (Prometheus protocol).
  • logs beings shipped to internal ELK and optionally Dalet Control Tower (Loki protocol).

While Dalet Control Tower is used by Dalet support teams, it is however possible to ship collected data to several other endpoints.

This is useful if you have a global corporate company-owned monitoring system in place, that you want to reuse.

Warning

At present time, third-party data shipping is limited to LGTM (i.e. Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir) stack.

Shipping data to external third party compatible monitoring systems can be done by extending the following variable:

dalet_baseos_monitoring_extra_targets: []

with one or several targets, configured as:

  - name: TARGET_NAME
    enabled: bool
    tenant_id: FREE_NAME # optional
    prometheus: # optional
      endpoint: "https://metrics.acme.com"
      path: "/api/v1/push" # optional
      username: "METRICS_USERNAME" # optional
      password: "METRICS_PASSWORD" # optional
    loki: # optional
      endpoint: "https://logs.acme.com"
      path: "/loki/api/v1/push" # optional
      username: "LOGS_USERNAME" # optional
      password: "LOGS_PASSWORD" # optional

Note

Note that shipping is optional and it's up to you to define whether you want to ship logs, metrics or both.
