Dalet Control Tower
Regardless of the chosen support plan, Dalet offers free-of-charge Control Tower service.
Dalet Control Tower is a Cloud-based, central and global product observability platform.
The various customer platforms can be configured to ship their respective instances' logs and metrics to Dalet Control Tower. This allows Dalet suport teams to have all data at hand, so anything happening, when customer is raising some support incident, all necessary information required for troubleshooting are there.
Regardless of your support business plan, Dalet advise you to enable Control Tower's shipping.
No private data is being captured or transfered and shipment can be restricted to metrics, logs or both.
If you intend to enable shipment to Control Tower, the first thing to do is to get in touch with your Dalet representative as to get a new platform dedicated set of credentials (i.e. platform identifier and API keys for logs and metrics endpoints).
Once received, simply set the following Ansible variables:
dalet_baseos_monitoring_control_tower_enabled: true
dalet_baseos_monitoring_control_tower_tenant_id: TENANT_ID
dalet_baseos_monitoring_control_tower_mimir_password: superstrongapikey # for metrics
dalet_baseos_monitoring_control_tower_loki_password: superstrongapikey # for logs
where TENANT_ID will be communicated to your by Dalet's team and is a unique identifier, used for platform's identification, usually formatted as $PRODUCT-$PLATFORM-$ENV, where:
- PRODUCT is one of amberfin, flex, galaxy, instream, pyramid.
- PLATFORM is free name.
- ENV is free name (usually prod or stg).
Once enabled, you can play back your observability agents through:
$ opsctl deploy -p dalet.flex.monitoring
