SMTP Configuration
Dalet Flex relies on a third-party SMTP system to distribute emails.
This can be either an already existing SMTP service in place (providing Flex is whitelisted to use as relay) or a new one (e.g. AWS SES) dedicated to Flex.
Flex will use the SMTP server as a relay service only, i.e.:
Flex Services -> Local SMTP Relay -> Upstream SMTP Server
The upstream SMTP server must be trustable, i.e. with a proper reputation so that emails being sent through arent' to be considered as spam or phishing by email clients.
It is operator's reponsibility to ensure that IP address does not belong to blacklisted lists and that proper means of SPF and DKIM configuration settings have been set accordingly.
Considering your upstream SMTP server to be ready to be used, the following parameters must be set into your ansible/vars/variables.yml file :
dalet_flex_smtp_server_host: "smtp.acme.local" # smtp.office365.com for O365 or email-smtp.{REGION}.amazonaws.com for AWS SES
dalet_flex_smtp_server_port: 587 # Usually 25 (unsecure), 465 (implicit SSL), 587 (StartTLS, default) or 2525 (StartTLS alternative).
dalet_flex_smtp_user: smtpuser
dalet_flex_smtp_password: superstrongpassword
