Network File Systems
While Dalet Flex usually uses S3 protocol to access and store media assets, there might be use-cases, especially when running on-premises where 'good old' classical network filesystems storage comes in handy.
When set, it allows Flex instances to remotely mount network shares from a SAN/NAS or assimilated kind of storage.
It is vital that the remote storage server is as resilient as possible (durable storage, redunded IP connectivity ...). Linux is particuarly sensitive on network latency non reliable storage may prevent Flex applications from working at nominal state and cause downtime.
NFS Storage
Should you be willing to use remote NFS endpoint to store Flex data this can be easily done by adding the following variables to your ansible/vars/variables.yml deployment file:
dalet_flex_storage_nfs_host: "nfs.acme.local"
dalet_flex_storage_nfs_path: "/path"
Samba/CIFS Storage
Should you be willing to use remote CIFS endpoint to store Flex data this can be easily done by adding the following variables to your ansible/vars/variables.yml deployment file:
dalet_flex_storage_cifs_host: "cifs.acme.local"
dalet_flex_storage_cifs_share: "/share"
dalet_flex_storage_cifs_user: username # optional
dalet_flex_storage_cifs_password: superstrongpasword # optional
AWS EFS Storage
Should you be willing to use remote AWS Elastic File System (EFS) endpoint to store Flex data this can be easily done by adding the following variables to your ansible/vars/variables.yml deployment file:
dalet_flex_storage_aws_efs_id: "identifier" # without .efs.AWS_REGION.amazonaws.com suffix.
dalet_flex_storage_aws_efs_iam_enabled: false
Azure Files Storage
Should you be willing to use remote MS Azure Files endpoint to store Flex data this can be easily done by adding the following variables to your ansible/vars/variables.yml deployment file:
dalet_flex_storage_azure_files_account: "account" # without trailing .file.core.windows.net suffix.
dalet_flex_storage_azure_files_share: "/share"
dalet_flex_storage_azure_files_password: superstrongpassword
