FLX_BACKEND_RDS_003 Alert

Description

A critical Alert is raised when the CPU usage on RDS has crossed 90%.

Severity

This alert is flagged as Critical.

Customer Impact

With this alert, the environment is at risk of RDS not processing any upcoming requests. The read and write on RDS will become slow and hence the impact can be seen in the flex pages. The flex page will take time to load and the searches will become slow if the CPU usage on RDS exceeds 90%.

RDS being heavily utilized indicates that there are other issues in the environment that needs to be addressed.

Operational Remediation Process

Log in to the AWS console to see the current CPU usage on RDS.

Connect to RDS

Check if there are any lock tables.
