Logs Management
Dalet Flex uses ELK for collecting, processing, storing and displaying logs. It runs on monitor instance.
It comes with Kibana Web interface to allow operators to query application and systems logs and helps troubleshooting.
Logs will grow over time and the more you store, the more expensive it'll be (both for storage and processing considerations).
By default, ELK is configured to keep logs for a month. Logs older than the specified threshold will be automatically pruned.
The log retention threshold (in days) can be set in ansible/vars/variables.yml through:
dalet_flex_logs_retention_period: 31
It's also possible to influence the index rollover settings. A rollover background operation allows ELK to create a new index, improving search results performance. It however consome more disk space.
The log index rollover settings can be set in ansible/vars/variables.yml through:
dalet_flex_logs_index_max_size: 1gb
dalet_flex_logs_index_max_age: 1 # days
A rollover background operation is triggered when dalet_flex_logs_index_max_size or dalet_flex_logs_index_max_age limits are hit, whichever comes first.
Finally, Kibana users accounts can be defined through:
dalet_flex_logs_extra_users: []
where item format is:
- username: USER_NAME
password: USER_PASSWORD
