Bill-of-Materials

Flex platform usage is usually 'flat' or consistent over time, requiring no extra need (or added complexity) for resources auto-scaling. Consequently, Flex infrastructure is usually expected to be right-sized.

Virtual Machines instances specifications depend on node type and platform forecasted usage.

Segregation of Duties

If you intend to manage 2 (or more) different Flex instances (e.g. production and staging ones), it is recommended to use 2 distinct Azure accounts (or at least VPCs and having each resource properly tagged).

This comes very handy for cost control or security isolation.
